THE MINSTRIL
One of the most acclaimed Straight Egyptians of the modern era - THE MINSTRIL has been not only a great individual but also an outstanding sire as well. Internationally the daughters and granddaughters of The Minstril are highly sought after in the breed for their ability to consistently produce beauty and refinement and great quality.
RAMSES FAYEK
Princess of the Nile is a maternal granddaughter of the prolific broodmare BELBOWRIE FAYEKA - Fayeka sired by the Nazeer son Ramses Fayek. A stallion perhaps noted more for his lovely conformation and correctness than exotic type FAYEK is an excellent individual to base a performance orientated breeding program on. His strength of body and excellent shoulder and hindquarter with great substance meant he produced some outstanding inividuals in his breeding career and in particular a wonderful line of broodmares. The combination of his blood with that of The Minstril has proven a judicious mix.cropped.jpg)
The tail female line of this mare is one we have long admired in the breed - albeit through her CRABBET connection! For Princess of the Nile is a direct tail female descendant of the wonderful mare RODANIA. This line is celebrated in Crabbet breeding as being a successful sire producing strain. The mare BINT RIYALA (bred at Crabbet and named there as RISAMA) - great grand daughter of RODANIA forms her dam line - being one of the mares selected by the RAS from CrabbetPark and imported to Cairo to augment their initial breeding nucleus. The EAO bred mare ANHAR was selected and imported from Cairo too the USA and Australia where she was bred to a variety of SE sires to found a successful line - her progeny continue to produce quality SE stock in a variety of breeding lines.
BINT RIYALA (also RISAMA)
So what did we hope to achieve by bringing Princess of the Nile into our broodmare band? The hope going forward is that we will be producing the type of quality athletic saddle stock that SGA is already known for - but which also happen to be Straight Egyptian.
Princess foaled a delightful black/grey filly to AH RAMSES in 2007 named Nile Nefermoun. She is a very promising blend of both parents and confirms the decision to bring Ramses and his strengths into the program. A strong compact body with a good set of legs and movement make this youngster a prospect for the future. She is growing into a lovely bodied filly with great substance and style. The fact that she combines the blood of 2 parents carrying the strong influence of the famous IMPERIAL STUD reassures us that this cross will continue to prove quality stock with sound conformation.
NILE NEFERZUHRI pend
For 2009 season Princess has foaled a delightful and very welcome black /grey filly to the aged sire Rianda's el Nasra. This little lady shows great promise and is an extremely welcome addition to the stud. Like her older half sister she incorporates a non-Nazeer sire line in her breeding. Princess has been returned to Nasra for a full sibling.

KUHAYLAH RODANIEH
Tail Female: RODANIA DB
Our lovely second daughter from Princess of the Nile - sired by the grand old stallion Riandas el Nasra we are extremely happy to have her here to represent both sides of her breeding, and particularly to carry the blood of El Nasra forward and continue the great qualities of good movement and sound conformation and good health into future generations. She has an extremely strong body and top line and a really lovely head with a good eye and plenty of breed type.

NILE NEFERMOUN
(Arundel House Ramses ex Princess of the Nile - by Imperial Maakir*)
KUHAYLAH RODANIEH
Tail Female: RODANIA DB
Our lovely daughter from Princess of the Nile and AH Ramses and a promising young amre she is. A very good sized filly she is maturing into a good sized upstanding mare with a deep body and depth of girth and good sound structure. She shows good movement and a very strong compact body. She is a refined stylish youngster - with a lot of her Kuhaylan type in evidence and she is a very welcome addition to the stud. The combination of Ramses over Princess has contributed a more level top line and considerable strength through the coupling.
NILE NEFERMOUN
Nefermoun should make a lovely representative of her lines and hopefully a useful saddle mare at some stage in the future. Hopefully she will prove as athletic an individual as her IMPERIAL based breeding might indicate via her lovely grandsires Ibn Safinaz and Imperial Maakir.
Nefermoun has been bred this season to the lovely Rianda's el Nasra as we are very keen to see his genes carried forward and time is against us.

Belbowrie MEMORY'S ROSE
(Tarong Shahgar ex The Nile Rose* - by The Minstril)
KUHAYLAH RODANIEH
Tail Female: RODANIA DB
The lovely imported black mare, The Nile Rose, made a very real impression upon me when I first saw her and was a definitive factor in deciding to purchase her tall, grey, Imperial Maakir* daughter. This impression of The Nile Rose is a feeling that is renewed every time I see her. She is an absolutely quality individual and as the dam of our mare Princess of the Nile she figures very prominently in our Egyptian breeding program. As a direct daughter of the mare BELBOWRIE FAYEKA who I had chosen as the mare line to base our straight Egyptian breeding program on she reflects a very immediate link to the strengths and qualities of the EAO breeding program which produced both the sire and dam of Fayeka.
Fayeka is an important mare to us, and to straight Egyptian lines in this country. Her line has consistently produced quality good bodied individuals possessing the necessary strength and soundness plus the quality and style of a good saddle Arabian. It is for this reason that this is the single straight Egyptian female line in our program.
With only three daughters produced to date from The Nile Rose, the opportunity to acquire a second daughter seemed unlikely. Until that is - her lovely young bay daughter - Memory’s Rose, who is sired by a favourite of mine in Tarong Shahgar, became available from Belbowrie Stud. Initially leased, she has been purchased for the stud. Our thanks to Elizabeth Massy-Greeene for her support.
TARONG SHAHGAR is one of the unsung members of a very successful family in this country. He represents the combination of the well known imported black stallion AK SIRHALIMA* (Ansata Ibn Halima ex Sirhabba) and the mare SHAREEFA* (Kaisoon ex Salha) - a mating which also produced the classic type well known mares Tarong Bint Shareefa and Tarong Sharaf. Shahgar even in his advanced years demonstrated great substance and excellent legs with good bone and sound feet. He was a very good moving individual with much to offer the breed and made a lasting impression. He was above all else QUALITY and demonstrated this beautifully. He also offered a chance to access breeding that is almost out of reach these days - being a grandson of two highly esteemed Nazeer sons in Kaisoon and Ansata Ibn Halima. In later life his flamboyant bloodmarkings appeared even more pronounced and extensive. And in his final years he sired some quality straight Egyptian youngsters who may prove to be his best offspring.
B MEMORY'S ROSE
A bright bay, reminiscent of her grand dam Belbowrie Fayeka, Memory combines the ‘older Egyptian’ bloodlines and strengths of her sire Shahgar (Ansata and Babson lines) with the elegant ‘newer Egyptian’ line of the USA based super sire The Minstril – over that solid foundation of EAO breeding that produced Fayeka.

A lovely bodied mare, with a good top line and girth - Memory has good legs and feet and terrific action - showing a good free ground covering stride, tracking straight and true. Although only a young mare she is maturing into a good bodied mare with a light, fine neck with lovely throat and refined breedy head.
In 2007 Memory foaled a delightful brown/grey colt to Arundel House Ramses - named Nile Memafinaz. He was a very correct colt with good movement and topline, and he has an excellent length of neck and was anticiated to be retained as a possible stud colt. Unfortunately he fractured a leg ina paddock accident and had to be put down.
In 2009 Memory has produced her first filly and the first foal for us by Rianda's el Nasra. And what a gem she is. Elegant, correct, light on her feet and moving very well - she is an extremely welcome addition to the stud program and will represent both her dam's line and her lovely sire in the years ahead.

The first daughter from Memorys Rose and what a lovely filly she is. Elegant, correct, quality and a lovely mover as well. This lovely filly shows the strengths of both parents beautifully and is a nice blending of their distinctive type and strengths. She has an exceptional neck and length of rein and will make an elegant and quality individual and future broodmare for the stud.

SHIRAZA
(Sir Ibn Moniet* ex Arabian Park Bint Faraz - by Arabian Prk Faraz*)
SAQLAWIYAH JIDRANIYAH OF IBN SUDAN
Tail Female: ROGA EL BEDA
We are fortunate to have the opportunity to have a lovely chestnut daughter of Sir Ibn Moniet* on loan to us specifically to breed to Riandas el Nasra. This will allow us to breed together, not only two complimentary individuals, but to linebreed (2:3) on the grand old sire Sir Ibn Moniet* - one of the most intensely Moniet el Nefous bred individuals to come to our shores. Sir Ibn Moniet was also an own son of the great Ibn Moniet el Nefous, a great individual and a great sire who as the sire of the horse AK Jabal Ibn Moniet* is already firmly entrenched in our Egyptian related breeding lines. And he brings athletic ability, masculinity and excellent saddle horse conformation and movement to his progeny and desendents.

Sir Ibn Moniet
Shiraza already shows many of the strengths of her sire and with a doubling of the Sir Ibn Moniet blood in the pedigree of any Nasra foals she produces we hope that progeny from this mating will express the strengths of that significant and highly influential family. Shiraza is a big bodied mare with an excellent depth of girth and strong substantial body. She possesses a light fine neck and good wither leading into a lovely strong top line and tail set. While significant early injuries that were almost fatal have disabled her action considerably - she is still able to enjoy a fast gallop around the pastures.
Descended in tail female line from the Roga el Beda tail female line via the Medallela daughter El Bataa - Shiraza shows the strong influence of the Saklawi Jedran strain. This line iscompounded further through the linebred pedigree of her own sire who is also from the same strain. Strongly influenced by her five crosses to the acclaimed Moniet el Nefous in her pedigree. Three times via her daughter Mabrouka and Mabrouka's son Morafic and also via the Moniet el Nefous sons Ibn Moniet el Nefous and Tuhotmos.
A young AP Bint Faraz - Slater photo
Shiraza's own dam Arabian Park Bint Faraz was a pretty and stylish daughter of the imported Farazdac son Arabian Prk Faraz. He has been in influential sire producing horses with athletic ability as well as good conformation and this should come as no surprise since his own sire Farazdac was the sire of 3 USA National Winners as well as 4 USA Top Tens - 3 of those in performance.

A beautiful natured mare who has had limited opportunity at stud we look forward to seeing her hoped for foals with Nasra in the future.
